Privacy Policy.

Mytherapist Tools is a directory that helps therapists choose software. It is not a place to enter client or patient health information, and we do not ask for it. Please do not send us protected health information (PHI). Nothing on this site is a clinical or medical record.

Information you give us directly:

• Your email address, when you subscribe to our newsletter or create an account with a sign-in link.
• Tools you save, when you use the shortlist. These are stored on your device, and synced to your account if you sign in.
• Vendor account details, if you are a software vendor who claims or submits a listing.
• Anything you send us by email or through a form.

Information we collect automatically when you use the site:

• Standard usage and device information, such as pages viewed, approximate location from your IP address, browser type, and referring page.
• Product analytics and, where enabled, session recordings through PostHog, which help us see how the site is used and find usability problems.
• Traffic analytics through Google Analytics 4 and Vercel Analytics.

We do not collect more than we need, and we do not sell your personal information.

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies. Essential ones keep the site working. Optional ones (analytics) are used only with your consent through the cookie banner. Your saved shortlist is kept in your browser's local storage so it works without an account. You can clear these at any time in your browser settings.

• To run the site and remember your shortlist.
• To send the newsletter you subscribed to, and to send sign-in links and service emails through Resend.
• To understand and improve how the site works.
• To process vendor subscriptions and payments.
• To keep the site secure and prevent abuse.

We rely on your consent for the newsletter and for optional analytics cookies, on our legitimate interest in running and improving a secure site, and on performing a contract when you hold a vendor account.

We use trusted service providers who process data on our behalf, under contract, only to provide their service:

• Supabase, for our database and account sign-in.
• Vercel, for hosting and traffic analytics.
• Resend, for newsletter and service email.
• PostHog and Google Analytics 4, for product and traffic analytics.
• Polar, which processes vendor payments as the merchant of record. We do not store your card details.

We may share information if required by law, or to protect our rights and users. Some links to vendor tools are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you sign up. Clicking an affiliate link may pass a standard referral identifier to that vendor. Affiliate relationships never affect our rankings or our pros and cons.

We operate from Nigeria, and our service providers may process data in the United States, the European Union, and other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers.

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above, or as the law requires. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. If you are in California, you may request to know or delete your information and to opt out of any sale, and we do not sell personal information. To exercise any of these, email hello@mytherapist.tools and we will respond within the time the law requires.

You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in any email.

The site is intended for professional and adult use and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. (Tools listed for working with young clients are software for clinicians, not services that collect data from children through this site.)

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

When you follow a link to a vendor's website, that site has its own privacy policy, which we do not control. Please review it.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the "Last updated" date above, and significant changes will be noted on the site.
