Pure EMDR

Link-free EMDR for telehealth, with no client setup and nothing to send.

About Pure EMDR

Pure EMDR is a browser extension that lets clinicians run EMDR bilateral stimulation inside their existing telehealth video call, without sending the client a link or asking them to set anything up. The clinician opens an EMDR board in a browser tab and shares it through their telehealth platform's normal screen-sharing, controlling the session from a small remote that stays on their side of the call. The client only ever sees the shared board, not the clinician's other tabs, bookmarks, or the remote. There are no client accounts, no downloads, and no session data stored, so the tool adds a privacy-first EMDR layer on top of the telehealth setup you already use. It installs once per computer and launches in one click per session, and it currently works in Chrome and Edge, with Safari and Firefox listed as coming soon.

On compliance: Pure EMDR does not collect or store protected health information, so it does not offer a Business Associate Agreement and does not need one in the way a data-storing tool would. Its privacy rests on the fact that nothing about the session is saved, and overall compliance depends on the telehealth platform you share it through. It is a focused, single-purpose bilateral-stimulation tool rather than a full EMDR suite or practice platform.

Honest assessment

What works and what does not, based on hands-on testing.

What works well

  • No link to send and no setup for the client, which removes the usual telehealth EMDR friction
  • Clinician keeps full control from a private remote the client never sees
  • Works with your existing telehealth platform rather than replacing it
  • No accounts, downloads, or stored session data, a strong privacy posture
  • One-time install, then one click per session
  • Sharing a single tab keeps the rest of your screen private from the client

Where it falls short

  • Browser extension only, currently Chrome and Edge, with Safari and Firefox not yet supported
  • Single-purpose bilateral-stimulation tool, not a full EMDR suite or practice platform
  • Relies on your telehealth platform's screen-sharing, so it is an add-on to an existing setup
  • Small independent product with a limited public track record
