Orchid is a YC W23 AI-powered EHR built for independent mental health professionals; therapists, social workers, psychologists, and psychiatrists. Founders Joseph Pomianowski and Dániel Varga set out to reclaim the ~500 hours per year clinicians lose to admin work in clunky legacy EHRs. The platform integrates scheduling, billing, insurance credentialing, analytics, telehealth, and AI note-taking in one place. The AI scribe can train on a clinician's past notes and writing style to draft new notes in their voice, plus summarize medical histories, suggest billing codes and diagnoses, and provide after-visit summaries. E-prescribing was added in 2025. Strong fit for solo private practice owners frustrated with SimplePractice or TherapyNotes who want something more AI-native from day one.
